The NHL is back!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Could it be because the MLB playoffs are just starting to heat up? Or that the NFL is finally getting back into full swing and putting the off field issues in the rear view mirror? Or is it because the NBA just had media day and it’s exciting to see LeBron back in Cleveland? While those things may get a rise out of you, nothing is more exciting about early October than the drop of the puck for some NHL action.

Last season the NHL continued it’s resurgence, solidifying it’s place amongst it’s advisories as a “Big 4” sport. Attendance is on the rise almost unanimously across the board. Television ratings continue their steady climb back to consistency and competitiveness as NBC Sports grows with the league. And maybe most importantly, it was another record setting year in terms of revenue for the league itself.
